okay here is highschoolstuck PM

PM’s name is Penelope Morgan but she goes by Penny and like the rest of the exiles she’s a political science major at a nearby university. she’s quite even-tempered and patience is definitely her strong point. she works part time as a courier for a campus-area delivery company and always zooms around on rollerblades delivering packages and paperwork and things. her mom works for the postal service and her dad works at city hall under mayor peixes and they’ve both been involved in the town’s political scene for quite a few years

her family is close to the peixes and strider-lalonde families so she grew up knowing fef and dave and rose and when they were all a lot younger she and aaron and the other exiles would lead little random games for the younger kids in town to play and while the self-proclaimed leader aaron would always kinda lose it (ie: he’d end up yelling at karkat about comics or something) she and WV (who i haven’t drawn/written about yet and i need to talk to jet about how he looks etc) would take over and handle everything

she’s got a lot of little hobbies she likes dabbling in, like sports (especially volleyball, softball, and swimming) and playing the theremin and watching MST3K and other bad sci-fi movies with WV and volunteering with the local girl scouts troop (she’s been involved since second grade and is now a campus girl scout!!!) but she’s got two definite big loves

and one of them of course is mail!!! she’s always had a love for the postal service and she loved going to work with her mom as a kid (and tbh if she still had the time she’d want to ride around in a mail truck with her mom all day) and she’s always wanted to be a mail lady because it’s just the NEATEST THING EVER and she’s a big fan of handwritten letters and mailing things to people instead of emailing them because she thinks there’s nothing better than the satisfaction of receiving a good letter in the mail after waiting for it!!!! her parents didn’t really approve of the whole Wanting To Be A Mail Lady thing and they urged her to at least TRY college instead of graduating and then going to work at the post office

she was reluctant but then she got into poli sci and discovered that she could do a LOT more good working in things like government relations for the USPS and working to pass legislation that could benefit the postal service so now she’s changed her mind and decided she’d stick with college

her other big love is……..roller derby

not many people know about this and it’s a ~secret love~ of hers but she’s actually on a roller derby team called the Prospit Pounders (led by a girl who goes by Ms. Paint) and her derby name is Parcel Mistress!!!!! she’s actually very very good and is one of the star players. the Prospit Pounders have been in a long-term rivalry with the Derse Dolls (idk if i like this name yet but………………) and they almost always go head to head and it’s super great

so only WV knows about this whole thing and he goes to ALL of her games and cheers her on and one day she invites aaron like WILL YOU COME TO ONE OF MY BOUTS!!!!!!! because she adores him so much and he doesn’t know what it’s gonna be and thinks it’s not gonna be anything major but then he gets there and is like holy shit this girl is so kickass and he swoons like SO MUCH because she could beat the shit out of me god how dreamy

anyway

penny and WV are so close they consider each other siblings and they get together weekly to have ice cream and fizzy floats at Princess Berryboo’s Pizza Palace (which is the arcade/pizza place john and jade work at) and they just sit and talk and swoon over WQ because god she’s so fabulous and they both have huge crushes on her and it’s really cute

she’s just really adorable and she wears shorts under her skirts and loves star trek and all of her friends just wanna smooch her because she’s such a cutie

you’d think, after knowing her for all these years, vriska would have learned to dodge the face licking, but she never does. every time tererzi leans in vriska is an optimist and chooses to believe she’s going in for a kiss, and every time terezi gives her a big sloppy lick on the face instead she’s shocked and outraged. every time.

nora and i decided that the kids’ exiles are all college students who came from the town everyone else is from but they’re big campus activists in a giant university out of town and they come home every other weekend or so to hang out or do laundry, whichever’s more important at the time

AR’s name is Aaron Rodriguez and he’s related to Karkat in that ~our families are mexican and we may or may not actually be distantly related but our moms raised us together and we call each others’ parents aunts/uncles so we’re cousins i guess”~ kind of way

he’s a political science major/pre-law and he’s very loud and slightly obnoxious/abrasive and has lots of opinions on social justice and justice in general and he will tell you them if you’re willing to put up with how passionate about the law he is

he loves the mad max movies and marathons them every other month or so and god he just wants to be a road warrior and lay down the law as he sees fit and he’d like to own a leather jacket and motorcycle someday and maybe just take off with just the clothes on his back and his favorite rifle (his dad taught him how to shoot when he was really young and he’s very skilled and jade thinks it’s SO GREAT how good he is)

he has lots of ideas like YEAH WHEN I GET TO THE SUPREME COURT I’M GONNA FUCK THEIR OLD MAN SHIT UP AND THROW BRICKS AT CRIMINALS BECAUSE FUCK YOU and he’s super radical and karkat and especially terezi look up to him and kind of swoon and terezi has the BIGGEST justiceboner for him because he gives her advice about lawyering and how things work in college and she has debates with him and she just SWOONS ALL THE TIME

and naturally this makes karkat very uncomfortable because GOD TEREZI IT LOOKS LIKE YOU’RE ABOUT TO SLOBBER ALL OVER HIS FACE. IN FACT WHY DON’T YOU JUST GO AHEAD AND DO IT ALREADY.

but for how loud and somewhat aggressive he is he’s got a way with words that gets people to listen to him? because he’s able to explain social justice things to people who have never heard of it before—like his family (save for maybe an uncle here and there who is just stubborn as fuck)

and his mom is p much bianca reyes in that she’s a very awesome lady and she has values and things and she never really put much thought into social justice before her son came home with all these ideas and she personally thinks it’s amazing and one time he found her watching fox news and he was like SIGH…………. and then he kinda explained why she shouldn’t and now whenever she happens upon fox news she just sighs like GOD LOOK AT THESE JERKS or something and it’s really great because he’s like yes my mom gets it

he’s the first kid in his family to go to college and he’s so ambitious and he wants to make his family proud even if it means living off easy mac (which he loves anyway) and rolling out of bed with disheveled hair and sloppy clothes (which he’s always done) and taking off to class like that because it’s time to learn about JUSTICE

even though he’s super passionate about things he always seems to maintain his cool and the only person who can trip him up is PM because she’s super adorable and while she’s intelligent and can hold her own he’s afraid that his loud shouty personality will make her dislike him or offend her in some way because he tends to ramble/talk without thinking sometimes

he really likes her a lot and always jumps to help her study for exams and stuff

hello and welcome to the next installment of highschoolstuck rambling, “totally phoned in lazy picture of the egbert-harleys followed by a lot of run on sentences”

i’m going to do both sets of twins as their own posts! so. 

so john and jade live with their dad and large dog bec slightly outside of town in a big kind of old ex farmhouse. dad owns a small but lucrative local bakery in town. john and jade are super close and spend a lot of time together! like they have ~movie nights~ and walk around with their arms linked and junk and people think it’s a little weird. they even work together, at one of those combination restaurant-arcade things. they make balloon animals for little kids. it is a pretty great job. 

jade is a very busy bee! she is the kind of person who likes to fill every minute of her day with DOING THINGS. she works at the restaurant, plays bass for the horrorterrors, helps out at her dad’s bakery, is on her school’s track team, has her own organic garden, and still finds time somehow to spend time with all her friends, get 6 to 8 hours of sleep every night, watch a ridiculous number of cartoons, and be generally pretty incredible. her friends are all convinced that she somehow knows how to be two places at once or something. she is adorable best friends with feferi and everyone loves them and they were tied for prom queen so they were just both prom queen. true story. she’s also really close friends with the lalonde-striders and karkat and aradia. i was going to put a career aspiration in here but i don’t know what it would be maybe she wants to be a SCIENTIST like maybe a zoologist or something??

john likes to think of himself as a big movie buff and spends most of his time watching movies, by himself or with his friends. most of the movies he watches are really awful, unsurprisingly. he’s only an average student but it balances out because his teachers love him. he has been his school’s debate club’s resident weak link since freshman year. he wants to go into the movie industry when he grows up but doesn’t have any solid plans beyond that. his best friends are the lalonde-strider twins and karkat and vriska. he and vriska have a little arrangement known as “the budhood of the travelling red chucks.” seriously. 

anyway, the important detail about these two is that they are great and everyone is in love with them. you know that one person in a group of friends who everyone in the group has a bit of a crush on? john and jade are both that person.

SO LET’S TALK ABOUT KARKAT.

First of all ok lemme just be mad about something: my human!Karkat headcanon was always Latino and then there was that whole fallout re: gross Mexican Karkat jokes in fandom, and it made me…almost want to change my Karkat but lskdf I don’t want to I’m sorry I’m really attached to human Karkat as he is in my head okay. 

So anyway. Karkat lives in an apartment building next door to Sollux and Aradia’s building or…across the courtyard or something idk they’re neighbors. He has a lot of responsibility in his household (idk how many siblings and stuff he has or anything though) and doesn’t get along with his dad very well, and also he takes care of a lot of Sollux’s household stuff because I think Sollux’s dad is a bit of a deadbeat/isn’t around and Sollux doesn’t take care of himself so Karkat…kind of manages both of them most of the time. And on top of that he can be really hardcore about schoolwork because he wants to be a REALLY IMPORTANT PERSON like a lawyer or something when he grows up so he just has a lot of stress!!! And is really grouchy and loud and well…he’s Karkat

Anyway, his best friends are Sollux and Kanaya and John and Gamzee and he hangs out with Terezi sometimes but since he can stand neither Dave nor Vriska they don’t hang out as much as they used to (I might steal the promstuck thing where they dated in middle school lololol). He spends his free time driving around aimlessly in his shitty car with people, making occasional stops at diners or similar, and watchin shitty romantic comedies with john or kanaya. (Sometimes he and Kanaya will go to a theater early in the day, pay for one movie, and then sneak into three more and just make a day of it, they invited john once but john didn’t want to because oh my gosh that’s stealing) Also, somewhere along the line he ended up becoming the person all his friends go to with their problems and he pretends to hate it but doesn’t really. He goes to Kanaya with all his problems. All of them. Rose at this point has basically learned to tune out Karkat’s voice completely for this reason. 

as always there’s probably a lot i’m forgetting here but w/e
